Stroll down Park Street in West Hartford, and you’ll encounter the Playhouse (on Park). Walk inside, and you’ll find a theater where there is little separation between the stage and the audience, and where the stage comes alive with plays old and new.
“Higgins in Harlem,” by CT native Lawrence Thelan, is about as new as you can get, but it is based on the age old tale of “Pygmalion,” re-imagined during the Harlem Renaissance.
I interviewed the cast for the Playhouse on Park blog, which it is my honor to do on a semi-regular basis. The full YouTube video of the interview is posted above. Enjoy!
